Definition

Plagiarism is the act of using someone else's work and passing it off as their own work and all Centralia/Partnership Centres students will be informed of the severity of the offence of Plagiarism.

All sources of information must be acknowledged and students will be encouraged to keep a record of all sources of information as they access it for their written work.

Written work, which will include:

  • Essays for assessment
  • Personal Development Plans
  • Directories
  • Personal Studies
  • Research Documents
  • Dissertations

All written work must reflect the individual effort of each student.

All students will be introduced to the Harvard method of referencing for books, journals and electronic sites.

All Centralia/Partnership Centres students will sign and present an "Authenticity Statement" for each assessment declaring the work to be their own.

Internal Verification of a cross-section of students will be implemented for each assessment in order to check and validate authenticity.

If plagiarism is suspected then the student/s involved will be informed that the assessment will be invalid and one further attempt may be submitted.

Students will be informed that they may use the Agored Cymru appeals procedure.
